Athletics & After-School
Friends Academy values the physical well-being of its students and offers programs and activities built into the school day, like physical education classes, outdoor education activities, and recess. An after-school interscholastic sports program is open to middle school students on a voluntary basis and includes soccer, field hockey, cross-country, basketball, and lacrosse. Regardless of experience or ability, students are encouraged to take part in age-appropriate athletics. Fundamentals of each sport are taught, however, the main goal is to build an understanding and appreciation for hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The After-School Program at Friends Academy provides a neighborhood environment for students by offering a variety of activities that suit each individuals’s needs on any given day. Operating from the end of the academic day until 5:30 pm throughout the school year, students must pre-register, and may do so for the year or on a daily basis.
