Adventures in Reaching at Friends Academy
Adventures in Reaching at Friends Academy is an outdoor educational program that uses experiential education as a tool to improve the way schools, businesses, and community groups live, learn, and work together.
Founded in 1995, Adventures in Reaching has become a resource for individuals and groups wishing to build strengths in areas such as team building and self esteem. Our programs are designed to promote new problem-solving skills and appropriate risk taking, build working relationships, assist in setting goals, encourage cooperation, enhance leadership and communication skills, and cultivate trust.
Members of your group will develop a better understanding of the group process, and learn beneficial skills that they can take back to the office, classroom, or playing field to promote a healthy, successful working atmosphere.
Adventures in Reaching develops programs to fit the needs of:
- School Groups
- Academic Leadership Groups
- Sports Teams
- College and Universities
- Community Organizations
Located in Dartmouth, MA, Friends Academy sits on 65 acres of hills, fields, and wooded trails. Our challenge course consists of twenty elements. Twelve of these are low elements which are typically one to two feet off the ground. The remaining eight elements are in the towering pine trees of our lower forest, and range from twenty to forty feet up. These elements, coupled with our vast array of ice breakers and initiative games can be customized into a program designed to meet the specific needs of your organization.
Adventures in Reaching is firm in its commitment to the “Challenge By Choice” philosophy. The challenges presented will require the whole group to accomplish, but every participant has the right to decide just how they participate. Though not all of the games and elements are physical in nature, participants are shown many ways to participate if they feel that a particular challenge would be too strenuous, or cause them discomfort.
