No student should be deterred from applying to Friends Academy based on finances alone. Financial assistance is designed to establish the best student body for the program we offer and to enhance the educational experience of all our students. Through the use of a monthly payment plan and need-based financial aid, we strive to make a Friends Academy education affordable for qualified applicants.

Need-Based Tuition Assitance

There is no preset income level that qualifies a family for financial assistance. We encourage families, with children entering kindergarten to grade eight, to complete the financial assistance process if they feel that the full cost of tuition is more than they can afford.

We use School and Student Services (SSS) to process our financial assistance applications. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Based on the financial information you provide, SSS gives us an estimated amount that your family can contribute to educational expenses. This helps our school make fair and objective financial assistance decisions.

The Process

Financial assistance applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

By February 1 – Complete your financial assistance application.

Applications are provided online at www.sss.nais.org/parents.
Friends Academy’s SSS code is 1058.

Federal tax returns do not have to be filed before completing a tuition assistance application. Families may estimate their information in order to meet the February 1 deadline.

By March 1 – Complete your Federal tax returns.

Upload tax documents within your SSS online account.

February and March – tuition assistance Notifications

You will be called as soon as your Tuition Assistance package has been decided.

April 10 – Family response due

A family’s response to Friends Academy’s tuition assistance offer is due.
