funday sunday & Open house: APRIL 7 from 1:00-3:00

Ever wish that YOU could go to school at Friends Academy with your children?  With this in mind, we have created Sunday Funday & Open House which invites parents and children to explore inquiry-based activities with teachers from grades Pre-K - 8. This family-friendly event is for everyone; both current families and prospective families alike.  Please join us and bring a friend!

What does the FunDay look like? From 1:00 - 3:00 on Sunday, April 7, we're offering short sessions of: Stop-Motion Animation with Mr. Felix, Create-A-Catapult with Mr. Beyer, Drumming with Mr. Bean, Get Up & Move Fitness with Mr. Williams, and in Creative Art Zone create patterns with hand carved stamps!  The garden will be open to dig in and the Library will host a “Book Tasting” where you can sample and "taste" different types of books! From "appetizers" to "main courses," we're sure that you'll find something that appeals to you.

We want to create an atmosphere where current students can enjoy time doing things they haven't tried (or get to know other teachers) AND give the community a chance to experience what makes Friends Academy such an amazing place. Registration for sessions will be encouraged: more info on this soon!

We hope you'll spread the word and invite others to this event. This day is a great, low pressure way to learn more about our independent school while having some educational fun. We hope you'll join us! For more information, please contact Katherine Gaudet at kgaudet@friendsacademy1810.org

Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 11 at 6:00pm. More details to follow.

Our last First Wednesday date will be May 1.  Thank you!

Grades K-5
Trimester II Progress Reports have been published to the Parent Portal and are now available.  If you have not already signed in to the BigSIS Parent Portal, please let us know and we will share your log in information.

To access your child’s report, go to https://friendsacademy1810.bigsis.com/portal/. If you forgot your username or password, please click on “Trouble logging in” or contact Mr. Lobato.  Once logged in, click on the “Parents” tab on the top of the screen. Click the “Student Progress” tab on the left margin, then “Student Reports.”

For those of you new to Friends Academy, you will notice that the narrative comments from homeroom teachers consist of strengths and goals.  The end-of-year reports will have full narrative comments. Never hesitate to contact teachers if you have any questions about your child.

Welcome back! Please join us Thursday evening for the Grade 8 Science Expo at 6pm in the Commons. Students will be presenting their own research projects.

For general information about the Middle School, you can always refer to the Middle School Website.

The Friends Academy Song Circles

In the paradigm of how music has been taught and shared for centuries, we want to continue and foster this tradition in our community. Join us the first Friday of every month, from 5-6:00 pm in the Commons. This is an offering for our parent/adult community. Bring your acoustic instruments. Play. Sing. Share. Follow along. Or we’ll follow you. Hosted by our very own Putnam Murdock.

Have you seen our FA photo site?  Photos are free to download (to the bottom-right of the photo, click the downward-facing arrow). If you have athletic photos you'd like to share, email Kelly Pelissier and she'll provide you with an upload link. Click here to view.
