PARENTS' Diversity Group
We have scheduled an afternoon meeting for those can make it on Tuesday, May 8 at 3:30 pm in Mr. Martin's classroom. The school has offered free childcare in the After School Program for parents who would like to attend the 3:30 meeting and need childcare.
On Thursday, May 10th at 6:00 p.m., we will be presenting our annual Spring Concert, featuring performances by students in early childhood through grade five, plus our Band of Friends. The concert should last about an hour and a quarter.
Students should arrive at school by 5:45 and go directly to their classrooms. This is a "dress event" for students. Dress pants and shirts with collars (no coat and tie required), dresses, skirts, and blouses, or comparable dress attire are required for this special performance. Students who may be sitting on the stage to play instruments should wear slacks or leggings. We have been enjoying the preparation for this event and look forward to seeing you all there.
CARNIVAL CAR WASH & WINDOW SQUAD
Friday, May 11 from 2:30 to 4:00 (weather permitting). 8th graders will be organizing a car wash to benefit all students by providing funds for the upcoming Carnival Day. There is no set cost - they'll gladly accept donations of any size, and for people who don't have time for a full car wash there will also be a window cleaning team for cars in the carpool line.
Portfolio Showcase 2018: You’re Invited to Celebrate a Year of Growth!
We are so proud of the tremendous growth of our students, and as the year draws to a close we would like to share with you a glimpse of their progress. Please join us for a morning celebration!
On Wednesday, May 16th, beginning at 8:15 with All-School Meeting, we’ll come together as a school to kick-start this year-in-review. Then parents will join students back in their classrooms or advisories in order to experience carefully selected reflections on what their challenges and successes were. The Showcase will end at approximately 10:00, but feel free to join us for coffee on the Beech Tree Terrace for a bit afterward! We hope you’ll be able to share in this special day!
Blue & gray FIELD DAY
This year, we will have a school-wide Blue and Gray Field Day on May 18th. Parents are invited to watch the last event that will happen on the field around 2:15, followed by an optional early dismissal at 2:30. If parents choose to dismiss their student at 2:30, please check in with their teacher (on the field) before leaving. Parents who are unable to attend may pick their student up at the regular dismissal time. In the event of rain, Field Day will be postponed until May 25th.
Eighth Grade Carnival and Middle School Picnic
On Monday, June 4, the eighth grade will host the Friends Academy Carnival from 8:15 am until 10:00 am. Booths are run by eighth graders and set up for all age students. At 10:15 am, Middle School students will be transported to the Dartmouth YMCA to enjoy our end-of-the-year picnic. Activities will include swimming, basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, board games, and more. M & C Grille will again cater lunch. It should be a great day! Students will return to campus by 3:00 pm.
Class Day will be on Wednesday, June 6, at 10:00 am. Eighth grade boys should wear dress pants or khakis, a white shirt, a tie, and a navy blue jacket; eighth grade girls should wear white or off-white modest, daytime dresses or comparable attire. Fourth through seventh grade boys should wear collared shirts and dress pants or dress shorts; girls should wear skirts, dresses, or comparable attire. Eighth graders should report to the library no later than 8:30 that morning. There will be no afternoon care on Class Day. In the event of inclement weather, families will be notified by our BlackBoard alert system and ONLY eighth graders and their families will be able to attend Class Day.

With the Admissions Season in full swing and many parents bringing in children to visit, please be mindful not to use the Visitor Parking Spaces in front of the school entrance at morning and afternoon drop off. Thanks so much!
Heartfelt and grateful thanks to all of our Parent Ambassadors and Student Leaders who have helped host First Wednesdays, a time for prospective parents to visit in classrooms and explore our campus.
Thanks for a great year of Song Circles!
Thanks to those who have shared their music and talents to our circle! We look forward to picking up and sharing more music in the fall. Please reach out to Putnam Murdock if you’d like more information.
