COFFEE AND CONNECTIONS
On May 29th from 8:30-9:30 in the Library, our new parents will meet their Buddies, faculty, administrators, and other new parents. This is our first step in welcoming new parents into the Friends Academy community of friends.
On Saturday, June 2 at 10:00 am, Friends Academy and the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center join together to celebrate area veterans by hosting a contemplative walk and guided meditation in the forest on our campus.
This event is free and open to the public, and walkers will meet in the parking lot. We hope that families from school will join us. Please RSVP by visiting www.zeiterion.org/almost-sunrise or by calling The Zeiterion’s box office at 508-994-2900.
Please consider writing a letter of thanks to veterans. We seek to line the walking trail with simple letters or pictures of thanks to veterans for their service. Participants can drop letters off to Katherine Gaudet at school. We hope that you will be able to participate in this special event!
Eighth Grade Carnival and Middle School Picnic
On Monday, June 4, the eighth grade will host the Friends Academy Carnival from 8:15 am until 10:00 am. Booths are run by eighth graders and set up for all age students. At 10:15 am, Middle School students will be transported to the Dartmouth YMCA to enjoy our end-of-the-year picnic. Activities will include swimming, basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, board games, and more. M & C Grille will again cater lunch. It should be a great day! Students will return to campus by 3:00 pm.
Class Day will be on Wednesday, June 6, at 10:00 am. Eighth grade boys should wear dress pants or khakis, a white shirt, a tie, and a navy blue jacket; eighth grade girls should wear white or off-white modest, daytime dresses or comparable attire. Fourth through seventh grade boys should wear collared shirts and dress pants or dress shorts; girls should wear skirts, dresses, or comparable attire. Eighth graders should report to the library no later than 8:30 that morning. There will be no afternoon care on Class Day. In the event of inclement weather, families will be notified by our BlackBoard alert system and ONLY eighth graders and their families will be able to attend Class Day.
Medication Pick Up
If you have any medication stored in the Health Office please contact Mrs. Reimer to coordinate a pick up. Any medication left after June 6th will be discarded. If your child is attending Summer Programs a new Prescription Consent Form must be completed. Please contact Maura Reimer with questions.
Care will be available on Class Day morning in the gymnasium. Care will begin at 7:30 and will run until 9:15, when students are scheduled to report to their classrooms. There will be no child care provided after the Class Day exercises.
Our summer tutoring list may be found here. Please note that we are offering online tutoring as a new option.
