LOWER SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Lower School Parents’ Night
Please join us on Thursday, September 20th beginning at 6:30 pm in the Commons for our Lower School Parents’ Night. This is an opportunity to hear more about the teaching and learning happening in each subject, as well as the beginning of the year routines and expectations that are currently being established. You will hear more about our academic programs and daily life for our students. We hope you can make it!
Room Parents: If you are interested in being a Lower School Room Parent, please contact Jeanne Machado at firstname.lastname@example.org. Room parents help support classroom or curricular needs as determined by the teachers or Mrs. Ross-Cory. If you have any questions, please contact Jamie Ross-Cory.
Attendance and Tardiness
The key to your children settling into class, getting their materials organized, and putting away lunch and coats, is getting to school on time. In this way, they will be ready for their day. School will start at 8:00 am. Students will be marked tardy after 8:05. Please remember that there is free before-school childcare from 7:30 until 7:55. Students in grades 4 - 8 will be in the gym. Students in grades K - 3 will be in Ms. Martin’s room. Those students needing a quiet alternative in the morning are welcome to join Ms. Cogliano in the library. Early Childhood hosts early arrivals at the Farmhouse.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Outside-the-Classroom Week is September 11-14. Sixth grade will stay on campus for camping, paddling, ropes course activities, and other outdoor adventures which help foster connectedness, build confidence and provide students an opportunity to learn through outdoor education. Building on what they learned as sixth graders, seventh grade will head to Chewonki in Maine where they will spend their days immersed in camping, paddling and cooperative activities. As is tradition, our eighth grade students will head to New York City. Please check our brand new Middle School website for additional information and forms needed to be completed for Outside-the-Classroom Week.
