The Friends Academy Song Circles
In the paradigm of how music has been taught and shared for centuries, we want to continue and foster this tradition in our community. Join us the first Friday of every month, beginning in November, from 5-6:00 pm in the Commons. This is an offering for our parent/adult community. Bring your acoustic instruments. Play. Sing. Share. Follow along. Or we’ll follow you. Hosted by our very own Putnam Murdock.
On Tuesday, October 31st at 8:15am, our Halloween parade begins! Grades K – 5 participate in a dazzling parade of costumes, while other students spectate and cheer. Parents are welcome to watch the parade and then join us in the Commons for our annual Halloween Assembly filled with tradition and fun! Please note, all students change out of their costumes immediately following this assembly, and scary costumes and weapons are not allowed. Masks are fine provided they are not scary. Middle School students may also dress up for Halloween, however the role of Middle School students during the parade is that of spectators for the younger children.
Our fall Open House will be held on Sunday, November 5 from 1:00-3:00 in conjunction with the Family Trail Walks and StoryWalk®. It is the perfect opportunity for prospective parents to see, in person, what makes our school such a special place. Please invite your friends to come discover the value of a Friends Academy education. Learn how students are leaders of their own learning; explore Friends’ rich arts program; and learn about our long-standing social and emotional programs to support students. From our outdoor programs and small classroom sizes, to our Early Childhood Program, Friends’ dedication to children and their families is uniquely all- encompassing.
AN EVENING FOR PARENTS!
We hope you will join us on Thursday, November 16 for a great evening at Friends Academy. Light hors'doeuvres, featuring oysters from Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms, and complimentary wine and beer will be served. Register here.
The Book Fair will be open for shopping, as will our School Store featuring apparel and a few other items. Doors will open at 6:00 pm.
We will have limited childcare available for children currently enrolled at FA. You can sign up when you register.
