“She’s really kind. Whenever we were doing math, she would work on the rug with us, and you could just come over and join if you needed help. She would say ‘Come over and join us!’”

Levy, second grade

Joined Friends Academy: 2020

Favorite Book (Children’s or Otherwise): The Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling

What is your favorite thing about working at Friends Academy? That I get to work in a community where neurodiversity is celebrated!

What do you love to do outside of school? Spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, volunteering in the community, baking (I am a self-taught baker who believes in always bringing homemade baked goods to share), and searching for vintage Pyrex.

Fun Fact: After finishing my Master’s, I moved abroad to teach third grade at an international independent school in Cairo, Egypt. An unexpected evacuation during the Egyptian revolution in 2011 eventually washed me ashore to the Ocean State.
