FA Student Artists Showcase Works at New Bedford Museum
What is it like to see something that you created in a museum? Friends Academy’s third, fourth, and fifth graders can tell you! Their artwork is on display at the New Bedford Art Museum in a special student exhibition that opened on March 26 and runs through April 30.
Created under the inspired guidance of FA art faculty Hanna August and Susan Cogliano, the students’ works bring together a wide range of materials and ideas – including self-portrait collages, three-dimensional wire figures, miniature pointillism paintings, and more. Take a look!
Across the galleries, students explore foundational elements of art (color, value, texture, space, and form) through both traditional and experimental processes. Together, these works highlight not only the students’ developing technical skills, but also the imagination, problem-solving, and personal expression that define meaningful artmaking.
The Friends Academy student art exhibition celebrates the creativity, curiosity, and individuality of young artists at a formative moment in their development. FA is honored to partner with the New Bedford Art Museum to showcase this remarkable body of work and celebrate the next generation of artists.
